They come exclusively from cultivation areas of the Lobau Organic Centre, forestry and agricultural enterprise of the City of Vienna.
For more than forty years, the City of Vienna has been practising organic farming on a large scale, ranking among the most important traditional organic farms in Austria. "The Lobau is a valuable agricultural area with a very long tradition dating back to the Imperial and Royal period. The soils are kept healthy and fertile through crop rotation, green manure and compost. No synthetic chemical pesticides are used," reports Karl Mayer, estate manager of the Lobau Organic Centre. Lobauer organic early potatoes are the perfect side dish potatoes. They are versatile in their preparation and suitable as roast, salted and parsley potatoes. They are also wonderful for grilling. The skin of the organic early potatoes is still so tender that it can be eaten without hesitation. The potatoes should be stored in a cool, dark place with high humidity and consumed within three to five days after purchase.
