Starting today, customers of BILLA, BILLA PLUS and PENNY have the opportunity to get a COVID vaccination quickly and easily in addition to their shopping. Together with the City of Vienna, the existing vaccination offer in the federal capital is complemented at three locations. Vaccinations will take place at these locations as of today:

  • BILLA PLUS - Millennium City Handelskai 94-96 in 1200 Vienna.

  • PENNY - Simmeringer Hauptstraße 59-61 in 1110 Vienna

  • BILLA - Franz-Koci-Straße 8 in 1100 Vienna, vaccination box at the customer car park

"It has never been easier to get vaccinated in Vienna."

Peter Hacker City Councillor for Health, City of Vienna

"All the figures speak for themselves: unvaccinated people account for a large proportion of infections and, as a result, hospital stays. This risk can be significantly reduced by the COVID vaccination. The better we can embed the COVID vaccination in the everyday life of the Viennese, the better these offers will be accepted - especially in districts where there is still more potential in the vaccination rate. With this cooperation, we are doing just that: it has never been easier to get vaccinated in Vienna," says City Councillor for Health Peter Hacker.

"It must be our common goal to contain the pandemic in the long term."

Marcel Haraszti Executive Board Member REWE International AG

"It must be the common goal of all of us to contain the pandemic sustainably. The Corona vaccination is more necessary than ever in view of the coming autumn and rising infection figures. I am therefore pleased that our customers in Vienna can take advantage of this additional offer", explains Marcel Haraszti, REWE International AG Executive Board Member.

Vaccination services without an appointment have reached around 64,000 Viennese so far

In addition to the regular COVID vaccinations in the Viennese vaccination centres with appointment registration, the City of Vienna started numerous decentralised vaccination offers without appointment registration at the beginning of July. The aim of this strategy is to provide people with a COVID vaccination in a way that is uncomplicated and fits into their everyday lives. So far, 63,969 additional people have been vaccinated.

In the shopping centres, Lugner City continues to be the magnet with 1,911 vaccinations. Via the vaccination buses, 2,422 vaccinations have been carried out to date, with Rathausplatz (4,073), Donauinsel (2,023) and St. Stephen's Cathedral (1,184) leading the way in terms of containers. The existing vaccination offers are optimally complemented by the new vaccination offers at BILLA PLUS, BILLA and PENNY.
