BILLA to be expanded by wholesale division

As of July 1st, the wholesale business is part of BILLA. ADEG will become part of the new division as an independent operating unit, will remain as a brand and will continue to be an important part of REWE Group. "With this step, we are strengthening, bundling and unifying our wholesale activities under one responsibility. The ADEG wholesale business and in future also the BILLA retailers will thus be looked after from a single source", said REWE International AG executive board member Marcel Haraszti, describing the organisational further development and anchoring in the BILLA Management Board, which will thus be supplemented by the "Wholesale and Retail" department. The new division will be headed by the former ADEG Management Board Spokesman Brian Beck (42).

"Within the Group, ADEG Kaufleute are the most important local suppliers in rural areas and will remain as such. We are clearly committed to the tradition as merchants, which has a long and successful history with ADEG in Austria and REWE in Germany and will also make us even more successful at BILLA in the future," adds Haraszti.

In organisational terms, ADEG will continue to operate as a separate unit within the BILLA Wholesale division with the business areas of independent retail and cooperation partners with independent sales, category management, marketing and shopfitting. The management will be taken over by Jürgen Öllinger (43) as managing director with operational responsibility for ADEG wholesale, ADEG merchants and cooperation partners.
