In harmony with nature: BILLA visits local businesses in Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland

Over 10,000 foods from regional producers can be found on the shelves of BILLA and BILLA PLUS stores in the federal states of Lower Austria, Vienna and Burgenland. The farms are often located in the immediate vicinity of the BILLA stores. This enables particularly close and neighborly cooperation and promotes regional value creation. As part of the BILLA Locality Tour, BILLA and BILLA PLUS employees visited four partner farms in Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland, where they were given an insight into the production processes of the high-quality products.

Together with Sigrid Weiß from Genuss Burgenland, they took a look behind the scenes of production at Frey Delikatessen in Floridsdorf (Vienna), Wiener Gusto in Laxenburg (Lower Austria), Bio-Landgut Pannatura in Donnersbach (Burgenland) and Obsthof Most Michl in Götschach (Lower Austria).

Waltraud Ungersböck, State Chamber Councillor for the Neunkirchen district, attended the BILLA location tour in person and was delighted: "The regional producers and farms in Austria do a great job and ensure the supply of the best local produce. With BILLA, they have an important and fair partner at their side who is committed to long-term cooperation and personal exchange. As part of the BILLA Locality Tour, regional businesses provide an insight into their production processes, tell the stories behind the products and offer tastings - this creates awareness for high-quality local food."

BILLA Sales Director Stefan Weinlich is also convinced: "The direct exchange with our local partners is one of the most important components of our work in the regions at BILLA. Our customers also attach great importance to local products. We launched the local tour to gain an even better insight into the challenges and needs of our partner businesses and to be able to respond to them together. It also gives us the opportunity to make our product range even more diverse and tailor it to our customers' wishes. Regional businesses in particular know best which products are particularly popular in their neighborhood."
