"The Badhaus is a very special meeting place where inclusion is lived. Every day, we experience how unexpected events and strokes of fate can completely change lives. Our work begins in this acute powerlessness and we support those affected with our professional expertise - but above all with empathy and humanity. Since it was founded, Badhaus has stood for togetherness and for each other," says Anja Jung.
BILLA shows social responsibility
As a fund recognized by the state of Salzburg as a non-profit organization, the Badhaus is financed exclusively by donations, which have declined rapidly since the corona pandemic. The Badhaus was even on the verge of closure due to a lack of funds to continue and maintain it. Elfriede Hoheneder, Store Manager at BILLA PLUS in Saalfelden, became aware of this situation and approached BILLA Sales Director Hannes Gruber, who promised his full support. Together, Elfriede Hoheneder and Hannes Gruber launched a fundraising campaign for Badhaus Leogang. Donation boxes were set up in all 15 BILLA and BILLA PLUS stores in Pinzgau from October 16 to 21. BILLA employees actively promoted the campaign and launched their own initiatives, such as cake sales, to increase the willingness to donate. The result is impressive: BILLA customers donated exactly 18,480 euros with their purchases in the stores, as Hannes Gruber, BILLA Sales Director, reports: "The donation amount for Badhaus Leogang exceeded all our expectations. A big thank you goes to all BILLA customers who actively supported our fundraising campaign. Especially in this day and age, this commitment cannot be taken for granted and shows that we live social responsibility and can achieve great things together. Badhaus Leogang is a flagship social project in Pinzgau that we are very happy to support."
Ceremonial handover
On November 8, BILLA store manager Elfriede Hoheneder, BILLA sales director Hannes Gruber and BILLA sales manager Ernst Weißenbacher handed over the donation to Badhaus Leogang. Marcella Ståberg accepted the donation check on behalf of her mother Anja Jung, who was unable to attend due to illness. The BILLA donation of 18,480 euros will make a significant contribution to the continued existence of Badhaus Leogang. Forward-looking projects are also already being planned: two "nests" are soon to be built in Leogang - barrier-free apartments that will be available free of charge to families with seriously ill children for relief and regeneration. The "nests" are intended to provide an individually designed time in a safe environment with friends, relatives and pets. Conventional medical care is also guaranteed in the immediate vicinity. The planned start of construction of the "Nests" is already scheduled for spring 2024.
