From 25 November to 10 December, REWE Group is once again taking a stand against violence against women and girls this year. In cooperation with the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI), all REWE Group retail companies are launching a 16-day information campaign against domestic violence. ADEG is also taking responsibility and sending out an important signal in its stores. In addition to printing emergency numbers and help centres on till receipts, on 25 November, the ‘International Day against Violence against Women’, customers will receive a specially designed shopping bag free of charge with a purchase of 30 euros or more. With the slogan ‘Violence against women is unacceptable’, the aim is to raise awareness and encourage those affected to seek help.

Seeing instead of looking away

The campaign is supported by social media posts and a POS campaign in which posters in the stores draw attention to the topic. ADEG's aim is not just to set a symbol, but to actively contribute to raising awareness. ‘Many people come together in our stores every day and count on us. It is therefore very important to us to draw attention to such a serious and unfortunately still present issue as violence against women and to use our platform to make a positive difference. Our initiative is therefore not only aimed at those affected, but also at society as a whole. Only together can we put an end to violence against women,’ says Karin Lechner, a self-employed ADEG saleswoman. ADEG Sales Director Elisabeth Fantic-Jantschgi adds: ‘The safety and well-being of our customers and employees is our top priority. With this initiative, we want to show that ADEG stands for non-violent and respectful coexistence. Every measure that makes offers of help for women affected by violence visible counts. We hope that our campaign will reach many people and help to initiate social change.’
