Lovingly handcrafted by BILLA: Biscuit sales raised 27,905 euros for Make-A-Wish

With a lot of heart and a good portion of dedication, 70 committed BILLA employees baked a wide variety of biscuits together with the well-known TV presenter Silvia Schneider. These and many other creations by more than 1,300 BILLA store and sales employees have been available since November in BILLA stores in the 21st and 22nd districts of Vienna as well as in Strasshof, Lassee, Raasdorf, Obersiebenbrunn, Dürnkrut, Zistersdorf, Hohenau/March and Deutsch Wagram for a voluntary donation of five euros or more. All the biscuits have now been sold. A total of 27,905 euros was raised, which was ceremoniously handed over to the Make-A-Wish organisation by BILLA sales manager Heidrun Puscher to help fulfil the heartfelt wishes of seriously ill children. The heartfelt wishes give them and their families joy, strength and new courage.

Eric Scharnitz, BILLA Sales Director: ‘In the run-up to Christmas, we wanted to organise targeted campaigns to support those who need our help the most. Our employees were fully committed and transformed the BILLA store into a lively Christmas bakery. Together with Silvia Schneider, biscuits were baked, carefully packaged and sold in the stores. The proceeds will go towards the fulfilment of children's dreams. It fills us with great joy to be able to make a contribution in this way.’

‘In the BILLA family, solidarity is very important. This campaign shows once again what we can achieve through teamwork. It makes me proud that we are able to hand over such a large donation to the Make-A-Wish organisation thanks to the great commitment of our colleagues,’ says Heidrun Puscher, BILLA Sales Manager.

Bettina Gruber, BILLA Sales Manager: ‘I was very pleased that we were able to realise our event title “We bake on” in the truest sense of the word together with our colleagues and thus make an important contribution to the fulfilment of special heartfelt wishes.’

Birgit Fux, Managing Director of Make-A-Wish Austria: ‘It was wonderful to see how many BILLA employees actively helped to bake Christmas biscuits to support our wish children. Thanks to their great help and the commitment of our customers, we were able to collect an impressive amount of donations that will enable us to fulfil more heartfelt wishes of seriously ill children to give them strength and confidence in difficult times.’
