Whoever reaches for oven-fresh rolls in the PENNY bakery shop can be sure: The Plexiglas flaps, handles and tongs have been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. The PENNY hygiene officers make sure of this. Trained employees regularly clean and check all surfaces in the shops, refill disinfectant and refill disposable gloves. Thanks to these measures, Austrians are optimally protected at PENNY even in times of Covid 19.
New concept for carefree shopping
"The health of our customers is particularly close to our hearts. I am proud that we are now offering them even more safety with our new hygiene concept and thus enabling carefree shopping", says PENNY CEO Ralf Teschmit. In every PENNY shop throughout Austria, one employee per shift is responsible for hygiene. They can be recognised by a red button on their chest.
Strict hygiene from the entrance to the cash desk
Dirt and germs don't stand a chance with the PENNY hygiene assignees: every two hours they start a tour. At the entrance, they take a close look at the newly installed disinfection dispensers for shopping trolleys. Stickers with instructions to keep your distance and information posters are checked. At the market stall, these employees also clean the scales and the display. And in the bakery shop, they check that each fresh loaf of bread is individually wrapped.
At the cash desk, cleanliness at the ATM terminal and at the packing table as well as a clean hygiene shield have top priority. In addition, customers can make contactless payments here or withdraw up to 200 euros from their Maestro card with the cash service Bargeld2Go. This ensures that customers feel protected in all branch areas.
