"Since January 1st, we have reduced the prices for tampons, pads and menstrual cups thanks to the reduction of the so-called tampon tax. With our offer to help our customers out at short notice with a free hygiene product, we want to set another example in terms of our service," explains Claudia Baumschlager, Head of Marketing & Own Brands Strategy and Communication, and adds: "When it comes to the topic of feminine hygiene, we took a look across the borders and took Scotland as a model, because Scotland is an absolute pioneer in this area. Scotland was the first country in the world to legislate for the free provision of feminine hygiene products in public buildings. As a woman, I am pleased that BIPA is now also making a contribution for women in Austria."

According to an IHS calculation, women in Austria spend around 3,500 euros on monthly hygiene - calculated over the entire life cycle. The price reduction alone will reduce these costs and relieve the household budget a little.

"With our offer to help out our female customers with a free hygiene item at short notice, we want to set another example in terms of our service."
