Free ice cream for schoolchildren at ADEG to mark the start of the holidays

With the start of the summer holidays, ADEG is once again launching its popular free ice cream promotion for schoolchildren this year. On Friday 10 July 2026, children can claim a free ice cream at participating ADEG stores in Vorarlberg, Tyrol, Salzburg, Upper Austria, Carinthia and Styria by presenting their school report. This is the fourth time the promotion has taken place, heralding the start of the holidays in a particularly sweet way. The focus here is not on grades, but on the joy of having completed the school year and the start of what is arguably the best time of the year. The promotion is valid whilst stocks last.

Off on holiday with a smile

This initiative reflects the close ties that many ADEG shopkeepers maintain with their local communities. As local retailers, they support numerous families throughout the year and are far more than just a place for daily shopping. Especially at the start of the holidays, these independent shopkeepers want to give the children a little treat and help them get off to a refreshing start to their time off school.

Florian Klein, Managing Director of REWE Wholesale, emphasises: “The last day of school is something special for children every year. With the free ice cream campaign, our ADEG shopkeepers are making this moment even a little bit nicer. Grades don’t matter here; what’s important is that the holidays begin with a smile.”
