BILLA put smiles on everyone’s faces with a treasure hunt at the Leibnitz Learning Café

At the Leibnitz Learning Café run by Caritas Styria, the focus was recently on discovering and experiencing things together. Five staff members from BILLA’s field service organised a treasure hunt for the children, featuring five varied stations. Despite the high summer temperatures, the heat did nothing to dampen the good atmosphere. The initiative was carried out as part of the ‘Verantwortung zeigen!’ network and demonstrated once again how companies can make a valuable contribution to social cohesion through personal commitment.

A group of smiling children and adults gathered outdoors, each holding colorful certificates. They are casually dressed and appear to be celebrating an achievement. Trees and a grassy area are visible in the background.

“Encounters like this highlight just how much can be achieved through personal commitment and a little creativity. I am delighted that our colleagues from the field sales team organised a varied afternoon for the children at the Leibnitz Learning Café. It is precisely projects like this that demonstrate how important community engagement is in the regions,” explains Peter Gschiel, BILLA’s Sales Director for Styria and Southern Burgenland.

Collaborative learning that makes a difference

The Leibnitz Learning Café primarily supports children with their learning and offers assistance with everyday school life. This makes afternoons that provide a change of pace and foster self-confidence, a sense of community and the joy of discovery in a playful way all the more valuable. Iris Strasser, managing director of the ‘Verantwortung zeigen!’ network, also emphasises the importance of such initiatives: ‘The treasure hunt at the Leibnitz Learning Café is a wonderful example of how, through ‘Verantwortung zeigen!’, companies can provide concrete support to social organisations and enable children to have special experiences. This creates connections that have an impact far beyond a single afternoon.’
