"With the expansion of our BILLA Corso in Vienna's Ringstraßen-Galerien with a new gastronomy concept, we are presenting our competencies as a food retailer in one location: A varied assortment that leaves nothing to be desired, a unique atmosphere for a relaxed shopping experience, individual advice and services, a place to enjoy freshly prepared and varied food as well as a wine selection that offers the right drop for every occasion," adds Eric Scharnitz, BILLA Head of Sales, and adds: "What is important: the familiar BILLA Corso assortment on site will remain in its variety, quality and freshness. Our customers will continue to find specialities from Austria and all over the world here."
BILLA market kitchen with fresh, varied dishes
One of the new centrepieces of the Ringstraßen-Galerien is now the new BILLA market kitchen on the ground floor - a spacious food court offering a wide selection of freshly cooked dishes. There is something for every taste here, whether for employees from the surrounding offices, tourists visiting Vienna or students from the nearby universities. At the individual counters of the BILLA market kitchen, customers can expect rich lunch offers such as soups, stir-fry or wok dishes, freshly baked pizzas from the stone oven, spicy kebap, fresh salads, sweet and salty snacks, chilled drinks as well as a coffee station with homemade pastries. There is also hand-rolled sushi and Asian specialities freshly prepared by EatHappy. The BILLA market kitchen functions as a self-service concept: customers simply order their food and drinks at the respective counters and then enjoy them at one of the cosy seating areas inside or in the outdoor guest garden with a view of Vienna's time-honoured Ringstraße.
BILLA wine bar invites to relaxation and exquisite enjoyment
The new BILLA wine bar is located on the top floor of the Ringstraßen-Galerien, where visitors can enjoy a genuine Viennese coffee house atmosphere during the day and taste one or two fine wines in the evening. In addition to the coffee house classics mocha, americano, Melange and co., there are around 900 varieties of wines, sparkling wine, champagne and spirits to choose from. A special focus is placed on wines from Austria - customers can enjoy fine wines from the Kollwentz winery from Burgenland (Großhöflein), Emmerich Knoll from Lower Austria (Unterloiben near Dürnstein) and Pedalones from Vienna (Wiener Nußberg). A large selection of Austrian gin and vermouth is also on offer. Sommeliers advise guests to find the right drink for every occasion. A fine menu with, among other things, leg hams from the Austrian ham manufacturer Gusel (still listed by Karl Wlaschek himself at the time), selected cheeses, prosciutto platters and antipasti round off the culinary offer. Whether it's a business meeting or a private get-together - for up to 60 guests, there is suitable seating here, in a newly interpreted Viennese Art Nouveau style, including lounge furniture, meeting tables for larger groups or cosy bunks. Of course, all products from the wine bar can also be taken home at the prices applicable on site.
As soon as the current Corona situation allows, the BILLA wine bar will be available to Austrian vintners - and here especially to local producers from Vienna and the surrounding area - as a presentation area for their assortments as well as wine tastings and other events.
