In October, PENNY customers have a good reason to celebrate: The exclusive private label "Ich bin Österreich" turns 10 years old. "With our own brand 'Ich bin Österreich', we offer our customers a large selection of regional products at the best price every day and have been catering to the tastes of Austrians since 2011, thereby supporting local producers for years. Wherever possible, we try to give priority to Austrian products," says PENNY CEO Ralf Teschmit about the anniversary.

From the Region Directly to the PENNY Market

From sausages and dairy products, fresh fruit and vegetables to crispy bread and pastries: The "Ich bin Österreich" assortment includes more than 260 products that are produced directly in Austria by more than 120 regional suppliers. One of these producers of fruit and vegetables is the company Gemüseerzeugerorganisation Ostösterreich (GEO), which has been working closely with PENNY for more than a decade with its approximately 60 members. In addition to tomatoes in all variations, GEO also supplies local PENNY stores with peppers, cucumbers, lettuce or courgettes - all grown regionally in Burgenland, Lower Austria or Vienna. "We are pleased that together with PENNY we have been able to establish the brand 'Ich bin Österreich' so strongly over the past 10 years. With our regional vegetables, we rely on short transport routes, high domestic quality standards, resource-saving cultivation and, of course, excellent taste - simply good from home", explains Patrick Haider, chairman of GEO. With "Ich bin Österreich", PENNY focuses on freshness, quality and variety from Austria as well as on the complete labelling of the origin of the products.
