Changeover Ja! Natürlich ESL (Extended Shelf Life) milk range to Brown Board with 20% less CO2 Footprint

The conversion of the "longer fresh" milk cartons (organic whole milk 1l, organic whole milk 0.5l, organic light milk 1l, organic whole milk lactose-free 1l) from Ja! Natürlich not only brings a breath of fresh air to the refrigerated shelves of BILLA, BILLA PLUS, ADEG and Sutterlüty. Above all, the climate benefits from the conversion of the Ja! Natürlich ESL organic milk range to the "Natural Brown Board" material, which is made of wood from FSC-certified forestry. Due to less material and energy consumption in production, around 20 percent less CO2 (CO2 equivalents per package) is produced compared to the previous milk cartons. The Brown Board material is not bleached and the coating is made of tall oil, a by-product from paper production.

The new milk cartons will continue to be disposed of in the yellow bin or the yellow sack, in accordance with the waste management regulations. The Ja! Natürlich ESL organic milk continues to come exclusively from cows that are fed only with Austrian GMO-free organic feed (in accordance with the EU Organic Regulation) and have free range and access to the outdoors 365 days a year and 24 hours a day, summer and winter. Tethering is strictly prohibited for the animals, and they must also be given at least 150 grazing days a year. This high Ja! Natürlich animal welfare standard for dairy cows is still unique, even among Austrian organic brands!

Come back up to 15 times: Ja! Natürlich organic yoghurts now also in returnable jars

Good news for all fans of the creamy Ja! Natürlich organic yoghurts in the popular flavours nature, vanilla, mango-passion fruit, raspberry and forest fruit, which do not contain any added flavours or extracts. From the end of November, these varieties will now be available in returnable yoghurt jars. From February 2022, a swap of the raspberry variety to cherry soft serve will ensure a new, fruity taste experience. The reusable jars with practical screw caps have a 66% lower CO2 footprint (CO2 equivalent) compared to disposable jars and can be refilled up to 15 times - making them an extremely environmentally friendly packaging in the chiller cabinet. Not only because of the better climate balance due to multiple use, but also because of the reduction in plastic use compared to conventional yoghurt pots and the avoidance of waste. The deposit per yoghurt jar is 17 cents.
