After more than 13 years as Head of REWE Group Corporate Communications, Martin Brüning (56) will leave the company on 30th June 2022 at his own request and on the best of terms. He will be succeeded by Ines Schurin (49), who has been Head of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs at REWE International AG since September 2016 and is the company spokesperson in Wiener Neudorf. Ines Schurin will move from Wiener Neudorf to Cologne on 1st April 2022, where she will work with Martin Brüning to ensure a smooth transition at the helm of REWE Group Corporate Communications.

He took over as Head of REWE Group Corporate Communications in February 2009 and has since made a decisive contribution to fundamentally modernising our internal communications and external media work and continuously improving the reputation of our company among the media and stakeholders. At the same time, I am very pleased that we have found a very experienced successor internally in Ines Schurin, who has already led our communications work in Austria and Central and Eastern Europe with great success." 

Marcel Haraszti, Member of the Management Board of REWE International AG, adds: "We are pleased that with Ines Schurin our senior communications manager is taking on this responsible role for the entire REWE Group and are convinced that we will be able to seamlessly continue our international communications work in Austria as well. We will inform about the successor in due course".  

Personal details 

Ines Schurin has been Head of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Retail International since September 2016. In this role, she is responsible for public relations, stakeholder communications, internal communications and public affairs for Austria and the eight other countries of REWE Group (Retail International) outside Germany, as well as the Media Unit for Austria. Schurin has already been working at REWE International AG since 2013, from 2013 to 2016 as Press Officer and Head of Public Relations. Until 2013, she was Media Relations Manager and Press Spokesperson at the Austrian energy company VERBUND and before that gained diverse experience in communications management on the agency side as well as in the cultural sector.
