Thanks to the active support of the customers, the net proceeds of 2,100 euros will go to the organisation, which has made it its mission to fulfil the last wishes of seriously ill people. In addition, Markus Achleitner, regional councillor for economic affairs, visited the hard-working junior staff.

For the tenth time in a row, BILLA brought apprentices before the curtain last week as part of "Apprentices run stores" to put the management of seven BILLA stores throughout Austria in the hands of the next generation. In Upper Austria, 20 apprentices were at the starting line to manage the BILLA store at Maria-Theresia-Strasse 55 in Wels.

In the course of the successful project, charity events were organised for the first time this year to collect donations for charitable organisations from the region. The apprentices set up a stand in front of the market with pastries from the BILLA PLUS market pastry shop, BILLA organic products and drinks, which were handed out to customers in exchange for a donation. The net proceeds of 2,100 euros went to "Rolling Angels" with its base in Wels. The association consists of a team of organisational professionals who work throughout Austria to fulfil the last wishes of seriously ill people.

"I am very proud of our apprentices and the entire BILLA team in Maria-Theresia-Straße. With their charity stand, they have impressively demonstrated their social commitment. Together with our customers, they were able to raise a donation of 2,100 euros and we are proud to be able to hand this over to the 'Rolling Angels' association," said Thomas Steingruber, Head of Sales.

Markus Achleitner, Upper Austria's regional councillor for economic affairs, also stopped by to get an idea of the "Apprentices run stores" campaign and to wish them every success in their tasks: "I am very pleased to see how much enthusiasm the junior staff in Upper Austria are putting into their work. The apprentices not only took over the management in the BILLA stores for a week, but also managed to collect donations for a good cause thanks to their self-organised charity event. I wish them every success in their further training and I am sure that they will master this with flying colours".
