Regional heroes for Land und Leut' - a cookbook for all seasons with added value

Cooking well and doing good at the same time - that is the aim of the new campaign with which ADEG is helping the Austrian volunteer fire brigades. For every copy sold of the new "Jahreszeiten Kochbuch" (Seasons Cookbook), which is now available at all participating ADEG stores, 5 euros will go to the respective provincial fire brigade association. The book contains numerous regional recipes for the four seasons, peppered with tips from ADEG merchants.

For more than ten years, the ADEG customer magazine "Land & Leut'" (Country & People) has been published five times a year, which also takes a look into Austrian cooking pots and reveals recipes for local delicacies. The new "Seasons Cookbook" presents the best recipes from a decade of "Land & Leut'" and takes readers on a culinary journey of discovery. True to ADEG's motto "Land aufs Herz" (Country on your heart), the useful book not only contains the best seasonal dishes that can be prepared with regional ingredients, but also numerous refinement tips from ADEG merchants from all over Austria. From strawberry tartlets and mountain cheese ravioli in spring to summery grilling tips for fish and meat to hearty mushroom and leek soup in autumn and crispy goose leg on Christmas Eve, the "Jahreszeiten Kochbuch" guarantees culinary delights and enjoyment all year round.

Support for regional fire brigade associations

For each copy sold, 5 euros will be donated to the regional fire brigade associations, which ADEG hopes will strengthen the volunteer fire brigade and especially the youth: "Our ADEG merchants have always distinguished themselves through their commitment to their fellow men and their regional roots. Many of them are also part of their local volunteer fire brigade, which makes an indispensable contribution to social interaction and safety in Austrian communities. With the "Jahreszeiten Kochbuch", we combine our passion for regional food with our aspiration to play an active role in shaping community life in Austria," explains ADEG Managing Director Jürgen Öllinger. ADEG merchant Markus Stubauer from Upper Austria, who is a member of the volunteer fire brigade in Maria Neustift (district of Steyr-Land) with his daughter Hannah, is also enthusiastic: "I am very happy about the new cookbook. Not only because part of the proceeds go to the fire brigade associations, but also because it puts fresh, crisp food from regional suppliers in the shopping basket and on the plate. Because at the end of the day, nothing tastes as good as straight from home."

Project with added value

"With the new 'ADEG Jahreszeiten Kochbuch' (ADEG Seasons Cookbook), we are creating added value on several levels. It summarises the best recipes from 10 years of 'Land und Leut' and thus underlines the high value of regional dishes and food. Every day, our self-employed merchants work with great commitment and know-how for their region, even away from their ADEG stores. By donating part of the proceeds to the regional fire brigade associations, we would like to do our part here," says Carina Budgen, Marketing Manager at ADEG.
