The pictures and news from the earthquake areas in Turkey and Syria are deeply distressing. Infinite suffering has been caused and the full extent of this catastrophe is still not foreseeable. "Our sympathy goes out to all those affected by this situation, who have been exposed to unimaginable suffering and uncertainty and have lost everything. Helping here is a matter of course for us as a company. We have therefore launched the campaign `A Heart for the Earthquake Victims` and would like to offer all Austrians a way to support quickly and easily," says Karin Maier, Staff Unit CSR & Sustainability BIPA, and adds: "As immediate aid, REWE Group has already donated an amount of 500,000 euros to the Red Cross."

From now on, customers in all 573 BIPA stores can help the people in Turkey and Syria in a very simple, low-threshold and uncomplicated way. Simply go to the nearest BIPA store, buy the symbolic donation product "Heart for Earthquake Victims" for five euros at the checkout and make a valuable contribution. The donations collected will be forwarded 1:1 to NACHBAR IN NOT. "Our customers decide on the number of hearts they purchase. The more hearts, the more help can be provided," says Maier. Monetary donations are currently the most effective way to help in the affected region. The local partners use the money to buy food, hygiene articles, blankets and sleeping bags, for example, and also to finance psychological care.

BIPA is not only calling on customers to donate, but is also sending this appeal to all Austrians. Donations can be made online, by bank transfer and by SMS. All information is available on the NACHBAR IN NOT website.

The donation at BIPA can also be deducted from taxes. Please fill in your first and last name as well as your date of birth on the donation slip and send it to NACHBAR IN NOT by mail (Nachbar in Not-BIPA, Wiedner Hauptstraße 32, 1041 Wien) or by e-mail (nachbarinnot@roteskreuz.at). The receipt will be sent to the tax office.
