Strong alliance for more sustainability

BIPA launches educational initiative "Water Full of Life" with the Association of Nature Parks in Austria

"Protect nature, support nature parks": under this motto, BIPA is taking another important step towards sustainability and is a partner of Austria's nature parks with 2023. As part of the "Water Full of Life" initiative, the company is promoting projects to raise awareness of the sustainable use of water at kindergartens and schools in the 2023/24 school year.

Together with the Association of Nature Parks of Austria, BIPA is launching the "Water Full of Life" initiative and supporting sustainability projects at certified Austrian nature park educational institutions on the topic of "water". The partnership sets an important signal for environmental education and promotes an early engagement of children and young people with the importance of water as a valuable resource or important habitat by means of on-site nature experiences.

"For us, the partnership with Austria's nature parks is the next logical step towards a sustainable future. Through our initiative, we promote the sensitization of children and young people for a mindful approach to water. Through their playful approach, the projects create a strong understanding of environmental issues at an early age," says Andreas Persigehl, BIPA Managing Director.

Understanding sustainability through experience-oriented projects

The projects are educational projects that creatively address the sustainability topic of "water" and thus playfully convey an awareness of nature to young generations. BIPA is positioning itself as a strong partner on the topic of environmental protection and is supporting the implementation of the initiative with € 50,000, of which € 30,000 will directly benefit selected projects.

"We are delighted about the project partnership with BIPA!" says Julia Friedlmayer, Managing Director of the Association of Nature Parks of Austria. "This will enable our certified nature park educational institutions throughout Austria to carry out their projects on the sustainability topic of water. We are already excited to see what activities our little researchers* are planning."

There are 48 nature parks throughout Austria, which are protected natural and cultural landscapes that are home to a diverse range of flora and fauna. With a total area of more than 600,000 hectares, they cover about 7% of Austria's entire territory. The Association of Nature Parks of Austria is an association of all these nature parks to ensure joint further development.
