Simone Hoepke (47) is moving from the daily newspaper KURIER to Corporate Communications at REWE Group Austria as of October 15, 2023. There, Hoepke will work as deputy group press officer in the future.

Hoepke started at KURIER in 2006 as an editor in the business department and was subsequently employed there as a columnist and deputy head of the business department. She also works as a lecturer at the Vienna University of Applied Sciences in the "Content Production & Digital Management" course. Born in Carinthia, she graduated from the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration (WU Wien) with a degree in commercial studies and was named Commercial Journalist of the Year by the Vienna Chamber of Commerce and the WU Wien in 2012.

Marcus Schober (42) also has many years of experience and extensive expertise in the field of communications as a lecturer and communications trainer at the Dr. Karl Renner Institute and the Vienna Academy of Education, which he also headed as director since 2016. Furthermore, Schober - who has been a member of the provincial parliament and a municipal councilor of the city of Vienna since 2015 - was appointed as a communications trainer at the National Defense Academy and the Federal Ministry of National Defense. He studied journalism and communication science as well as political science at the University of Vienna and "Political Communication" at Danube University in Krems.

As of October 1, 2023, he will join Simone Hoepke and Paul Pöttschacher (40), who has been with REWE Group since 2014, as spokespersons for BILLA, completing the Corporate Communications & Public Affairs team headed by Claudia Riebler. Daniela Ebeert continues to be spokesperson for the tourism division within REWE Group Austria.

"It is not a given to be able to welcome two such competent communications experts to our team. Both bring a wealth of experience in journalism and political communications and will help us perfect our storytelling and master communications challenges. I am very much looking forward to working with the new team of press officers," says Head of Corporate Communications & Public Affairs Claudia Riebler.
