In Austria, more than 35 percent of vertebrate species are considered to be threatened with extinction. In the case of reptiles and amphibians, the figure is more than 60 percent. This is why PENNY and Schönbrunn Zoo have joined forces to support eight local species conservation projects and thus the protection of endangered animal species in Austria. Six cuddly toys (fox, hedgehog, squirrel, owl, duck and rabbit) can be purchased for a price of 3.99 euros at your favorite PENNY store. For every soft toy sold, 1 euro goes directly to Schönbrunn Zoo. These donations go directly to selected species conservation projects. In this way, PENNY customers contribute directly to the protection and preservation of the local animal world.

"We are in the thick of it, not just part of it, as we are convinced that the protection of native species is a shared responsibility. Our aim is to protect the animals that are under threat in our immediate surroundings and, together with our long-standing partner Tiergarten Schönbrunn, to raise awareness of this issue," emphasizes PENNY Austria Managing Director Kai Pataky.

As part of the partnership, PENNY is involved in eight special species conservation projects, ranging from the reintroduction of the Ural owl to the protection of the fire salamander and the European pond turtle.Further information on the partnership and the species conservation projects can be found at: penny.at/schönbrunn

The sales campaign starts on March 21, 2024 and runs while stocks last.
