Setting the course for the future: BILLA organised an interactive apprentice event in Vienna

A major apprentice event organised by BILLA on 23 May in Vienna's 20th district offered third-year apprentices a platform to share and reflect on their training at BILLA. With an agenda that encouraged interactive discussions and an open feedback culture, BILLA emphasised its commitment to continuously improving training opportunities and nurturing the next generation of skilled workers.

On 23 May 2024, BILLA organised an interactive event for 3rd-year apprentices from Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland in Engerthstrasse in Vienna's 20th district.

The advantages of an apprenticeship at BILLA are obvious for most of the apprentices: ‘Because we like working with people, we get a varied training programme and because you can go far at BILLA,’ explained one young participant. An apprenticeship at BILLA is often the first step on the career ladder and offers committed apprentices the opportunity to be accepted into the junior management programme after completing their training and to further their professional careers.

In addition to the apprentices, political representatives were also present at the interactive event to emphasise the importance of solid vocational training and to honour BILLA's dedicated work. "It is impressive to see how committed BILLA's apprentices are. A good education is the foundation for a successful future and events like this not only promote dialogue, but also the personal development of each and every individual,’ says Christine Dubravac-Widholm (head of the 20th district of Vienna). "Promoting young talent and investing in their education are crucial for the future of our society. BILLA is setting an important example here and showing how valuable good apprenticeship training is,’ explained Benjamin Schulz, Member of the Vienna State Parliament.Eric Scharnitz, BILLA Sales Director for the Vienna, Lower Austria North & East region and northern Burgenland, was also enthusiastic about the event: ‘Our apprentices are the future of our company. It's really great to see how they encouraged each other and engaged in lively discussions. This event showed once again that we are on the right track when it comes to developing and promoting young talent."
