Austrian Leading Companies: BILLA once again honoured with inclusion award

BILLA has been honoured with the Austrian Leading Companies Inclusion Award 2024 for Lower Austria, making it the first company to receive this award twice. The award, presented as part of the ALC Awards by ‘Die Presse’, KSV 1870 and PwC, recognises outstanding corporate achievements in the integration of people with disabilities into working life. BILLA's commitment to long-term and sustainable integration was particularly emphasised. The inclusion prize is awarded in cooperation with the Essl Foundation's Zero Project.

BILLA is colorful and relies on the power of diversity

With over 800 employees with disabilities on its team, BILLA makes a strong statement for integration in the labor market. The company employs people from over 100 nations and promotes a work environment where everyone is welcome, regardless of their origin, gender, age, sexual identity, or disability. “Diversity is at the heart of our corporate culture. We are particularly committed to creating a work environment where every employee feels recognized and valued. We are proud that this commitment has once again been honored with the Inclusion Prize,” says BILLA Board Member Robert Nagele.

However, inclusion means more to BILLA than just creating jobs. The company actively engages in various inclusion projects, such as providing trial days for youth with learning difficulties or hosting special regional cafés that promote the exchange for the professional integration of people with disabilities. Another initiative is the “Quiet Hour” – a calm shopping opportunity for people with autism in selected BILLA stores.
