A celebration for a good cause

The afternoon began with a traditional beer tapping ceremony, which was performed by district head Daniel Resch, BILLA board member Michael Paterno and the BILLA Corso team under the direction of store manager Thomas Holzweber. This ceremonial ritual marked the start of an event that not only celebrated the love of Weisswurst, but also focussed on the commitment to disadvantaged children and young people.

NextGenBuddies - Education for all

‘NextGenBuddies - together we grow’ is an innovative programme that was launched in 2010 by BILLA, Caritas Vienna and WU Vienna. It promotes educational equality in Austria by bringing students together with children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. In weekly meetings, they learn, play and do sports together. These exchange programmes not only enrich the lives of the children, who gain valuable caregivers, but also of the students, who expand their social skills and take on responsibility.

A delight with heart

The Weisswurst Charity Event was not only a culinary highlight, but also a symbol of cohesion and solidarity. BILLA will continue to support projects that promote equal opportunities and education - because education is the key to a better future for everyone.

‘With our BILLA Weisswurst Charity Event, we want to celebrate the love of Weisswurst and at the same time make a significant contribution to the education of young people,’ explained Michael Paterno, BILLA CEO. Throughout the day, guests had the opportunity to enjoy culinary delights from regional partners. All customers were also invited to take part in the charity raffle and try their luck on the wheel of fortune. ‘Thanks to the great support of our customers, we were able to raise a generous amount on the very first day, which will go directly towards our educational projects for young people in Austria,’ says Paterno enthusiastically.
