BILLA donates hygiene and contraceptive products worth 2,500 euros to First Love outpatient department in Salzburg

First love is a very special experience - full of intense feelings, joy and excitement. But as wonderful as this time may be, it often brings with it confusion and uncertainty. Questions arise, fears can develop and the emotional chaos can be overwhelming. At times like these, it's good to have a trusted carer by your side to talk to about worries and concerns. But not every young person has someone they can confide in. This is exactly where Salzburg's First Love outpatient departments come in.

Four people stand in front of a display for "First Love Ambulanz" at a university clinic, holding informational brochures. The display has a pink and red design, and the clinic's details are shown on a board to the left.

BILLA demonstrates commitment to youth

At BILLA, there is an awareness of the importance of counseling centers like the First Love Ambulance, and they are eager to help the responsible parties. “At BILLA, we are committed to supporting projects like the First Love Ambulances,” explains Hannes Gruber, BILLA Sales Director in Salzburg and Tyrol. “Especially in today's time, it is essential for young people to have low-threshold access to counseling and education without feeling ashamed. The First Love Ambulances do valuable work by providing youth with a safe space to ask questions and receive support. We are therefore especially pleased to donate hygiene and contraceptive products worth €2,500 this year, contributing to empowering youth for a self-determined and healthy life.”

Comprehensive support

The First Love Ambulances in Salzburg city and Zell am See offer youths a comprehensive range of counseling services that cover various concerns. Young people under 18 can seek advice anonymously and without a health insurance card on a wide range of topics. This low-threshold option aims to make it easier for them to seek trustworthy information and support. “The First Love Ambulances are a point of contact for young people seeking guidance and support during a particularly formative phase of life. With their accessible offerings, they create a space where young people can openly discuss issues related to love, contraception, and sexuality, as well as personal challenges. I would like to sincerely thank BILLA for their generous donation. It significantly contributes to sustainably supporting the work of the ambulances in Salzburg,” says Univ. Prof. Dr. Thorsten Fischer, Head of the University Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics at PMU.
