BILLA donates hygiene and contraceptive products worth 2,500 euros to First Love outpatient department in Salzburg

First love is a very special experience - full of intense feelings, joy and excitement. But as wonderful as this time may be, it often brings with it confusion and uncertainty. Questions arise, fears can develop and the emotional chaos can be overwhelming. At times like these, it's good to have a trusted carer by your side to talk to about worries and concerns. But not every young person has someone they can confide in. This is exactly where Salzburg's First Love outpatient departments come in.

Compassionate social counsellors and experienced gynaecologists are available to young people free of charge, offering a sympathetic ear and support on all topics relating to love, relationships and sexuality. ‘It is important that young people have a safe place where they can ask questions about love, sexuality and relationships without being judged,’ emphasises Provincial Councillor Daniela Gutschi. ‘The First Love outpatient departments make an indispensable contribution to the health and education of young people.

BILLA shows commitment to young people

BILLA is also aware of the importance of counselling centres such as the First Love outpatient departments and is happy to actively support those responsible: ‘At BILLA, it is very important to us to support projects such as the First Love outpatient departments,’ explains Hannes Gruber, BILLA Sales Director in Salzburg and Tyrol. ‘Especially in this day and age, it is important that young people have low-threshold access to counselling and information without having to feel ashamed. The First Love outpatient departments do valuable work by offering young people a safe space to ask questions and receive support. We are therefore particularly pleased to be able to donate hygiene and contraceptive products worth 2,500 euros this year and thus make a contribution that empowers young people and contributes to a self-determined and healthy life.’

Comprehensive support

The First Love outpatient departments in Salzburg City and Zell am See offer young people a comprehensive range of counselling services covering a variety of concerns. Young people under the age of 18 can seek advice on a wide range of topics anonymously and without an e-card. This low-threshold option is intended to make it easier for them to obtain information and seek support in confidence. ‘The First Love outpatient departments are a point of contact for young people who are looking for guidance and support during a particularly formative phase of their lives. With their low-threshold services, they create a space in which young people can talk openly about topics relating to love, contraception and sexuality as well as personal challenges. I would like to thank BILLA for their generous donation. It makes a significant contribution to sustainably supporting the work of the outpatient departments in Salzburg,’ says Prof. Dr Thorsten Fischer, Head of the University Clinic for Gynaecology and Obstetrics at the PMU.
