Chocolate surprise: BIPA donates 10,000 Nikolos to Caritas homes

6 December is St Nicholas' Day - and to mark the occasion, the Austrian drugstore chain BIPA is donating 10,000 Milka Chocolate Nikolos to CARITAS to bring a little Christmas joy to people in difficult life situations. The company is also supporting CARITAS financially - this year with a children's book campaign in all BIPA shops throughout Austria.

Three people wearing red jackets are standing in a warehouse. Two are holding decorative bottles, and the person in the middle is holding a sign that says "Danke!" They're standing in front of stacked goods on pallets.

“We are pleased to send sweet Nikolaus greetings to socially disadvantaged people with this initiative, bringing smiles to faces, especially children's faces, even in difficult times.” The chocolate delivery is currently on its way to six CARITAS locations across Austria, where it will be distributed in the coming days.

“A chocolate Nikolaus is a given for many of us, yet we often forget that there are people who are not as fortunate. Therefore, we are even happier that BIPA thinks of these individuals, especially during the Christmas season, and supports us with both in-kind and monetary donations,” says Anna Parr, Secretary General of Caritas Austria.

Long-standing partnership

BIPA has been supporting the CARITAS mother-child shelters through various activities and donations since 2009, where homeless mothers and their children find a protective roof and receive support for their fresh start. This year, a children's book featuring the popular BIPA reindeer Rosi is available for purchase in all BIPA stores across Austria for €1.99 – with one euro from each book sold until December 24 going to the social organization. Additionally, BIPA has donated vouchers worth €60,000 for essential products. “Our long-standing partnership with CARITAS is close to our hearts, and we are proud to contribute to the Christmas joy of many people together,” says Markus Geyer.
