Fairbruary: Win BILLA shopping vouchers worth 300 euros

In February, REWE Group and FAIRTRADE traditionally invite consumers to consciously look out for the FAIRTRADE seal with the “Fairbruary” initiative: FAIRTRADE means fairer wages, better living conditions and sustainable cultivation methods. With around 900 FAIRTRADE products in the BILLA, BILLA PLUS, PENNY and ADEG stores, fair shopping has never been easier. With the slogan “After fair shopping is before fair shopping”, BILLA is giving away three BILLA shopping vouchers worth 300 euros each as part of Fairbruary. Participation is possible with one click on fairbruary.at/billa.

REWE and FAIRTRADE Austria celebrated the 20th anniversary of their collaboration in 2023. A new milestone was set in 2024: The complete switch to FAIRTRADE cocoa for all private label chocolate products from clever, BILLA, BILLA Bio and Ja! Natürlich. This means that FAIRTRADE is no longer the exception, but firmly anchored in the range - customers can be sure that they will always receive fair products.

For a decade, Ja! Natürlich has been setting a strong example for sustainable enjoyment with FAIRTRADE-certified coffee. In 2014, the Ja! Natürlich Hochland ground coffee was FAIRTRADE-certified, followed by the certification of further Ja! Natürlich coffee varieties in 2020. “Our long-standing partnership with FAIRTRADE is an important contribution to a more sustainable future. With the FAIRTRADE certification of numerous products, we are sending a clear signal for responsibility and fairness in trade - in the interests of our customers,” says Andreas Steidl, Managing Director of Ja! Natürlich and Head of Agriculture, Quality Management and Sustainable Products and Product Ranges at BILLA AG.

“There are countless FAIRTRADE products at BILLA, PENNY and ADEG, so you can hardly go past them: I am particularly pleased that the cocoa conversion of BILLA's private labels is 100 percent complete. This means that you no longer have to consciously choose more fairness, it is now the norm,” says Hartwig Kirner, Managing Director of FAIRTRADE Austria. REWE Group remains a pioneer in terms of sustainable product range and responsible purchasing. The range of FAIRTRADE products will also be constantly expanded in the future in order to further strengthen fair trade in Austria.
