BILLA provided sporting and culinary highlights at the Danube Island Festival 2025

At the Danube Island Festival 2025 last weekend, BILLA was proud to support the Vienna Beach Volleyball Talent Cup. Together with the Vienna Volleyball Association, young talents aged 10 to 15 were given a stage to showcase their skills. The city championships in the U14 and U16 categories were held on the sports island in the middle of the festival grounds with 14 participating teams.

VV Döbling secured the city championship title in the U14 category, while Hotvolleys 1 won the U16 category. Hamed Mohseni, BILLA Sales Director for Vienna: "We were delighted to support the promotion of young talent as a partner of the Danube Island Festival. The Beach Volleyball Talent Cup was a complete success – exciting, inspiring and full of team spirit. It was great to see how much commitment and enthusiasm the young talents brought to the court. In addition, our BILLA Food Stage was very well received by visitors. Cool drinks, Käseleberkäse (cheese loaf) and schnitzel sandwiches were particularly popular!"

From savoury to plant-based: BILLA treated DIF visitors to a culinary feast

The festival was also a culinary highlight. Located directly on Centre Court, more than 7,000 visitors enjoyed freshly prepared food at the BILLA Food Stage. Whether hearty Leberkäse or purely plant-based wraps, pita rolls or baguettes – there was something for everyone. Particularly refreshing: the fruity berries and watermelons, which provided welcome refreshment on hot days.
