As a green electricity supplier, EHA Austria makes a clear commitment to sustainability. Since 2008, EHA Austria has supplied exclusively green electricity from renewable energy sources. In 2012, EHA Austria began sourcing energy directly from wind power plants. Since 2020, EHA Austria has also invested in solar power production from its own large-scale PV systems installed on customer sites. Starting in 2026, wind energy from the North Sea will further complement EHA Austria’s sustainability portfolio. Today, around 100 energy market experts work in Austria and Germany for EHA Germany and EHA Austria. These experts provide customers with market expertise and know-how, offering services ranging from grid connection and optimization consulting to long-term secured energy procurement and delivery, as well as energy management and billing services.
A Key Component of a Sustainable Corporate Strategy
“EHA Austria is a central part of the REWE Group’s sustainable corporate strategy. It not only ensures security of supply and cost efficiency but also makes an important contribution to environmental compatibility – fully in line with the energy policy triangle,” says Robert Nagele, Managing Director EHA Austria and responsible Board Member at BILLA. Marcel Haraszti, Board Member of REWE International AG, also emphasizes the importance of EHA Austria: “EHA is a prime example of corporate responsibility and innovative strength. It enables us to use energy efficiently, sustainably, and economically. After 20 years of successful collaboration, I wish for another 100 years,” says Marcel Haraszti. As part of the anniversary celebrations, exciting presentations were held on the three core goals of the energy policy triangle – security of supply, cost efficiency, and environmental compatibility. Speakers included Hildegard Aichberger, Managing Director of Umweltbundesamt, Gerhard Christiner, CEO of APG Netzgesellschaft, and Jan-Oliver Heidrich, Managing Director of EHA Germany.
350 REWE PV Systems Supply Power for 9,000 Households
