Baking for a good cause: BILLA shows solidarity in Styria

As part of the engagement days organised by the ‘Verantwortung zeigen!’ (Show Responsibility!) network, a team of eight BILLA managers from Styria showed their full commitment: under the expert guidance of BILLA master confectioner Rene Dornhofer, they baked delicious Christmas treats such as rum balls, gingerbread, nut pralines and colourful reindeer chocolates at the Ronald McDonald Children's Aid House in Graz. The baked goods were offered in exchange for a voluntary donation at the Children's Aid House promotional stand during the Grand Christmas Gala of Musical Stars at the Stadthalle Graz. All proceeds go directly to families who find accommodation at the Ronald McDonald Children's Aid House in difficult situations.

A group of people wearing festive Santa hats and aprons gather in a kitchen. They are engaged in baking activities with cookies and baking supplies on the counter. Two people in the front are holding a certificate and smiling. The scene is decorated with small Christmas trees.

Joint commitment

"Baking together was not only a fun pre-Christmas activity for the team, but above all an expression of solidarity with families who are going through a particularly challenging time. At Christmas in particular, BILLA is keen to make a big impact with small gestures. By participating in the ‘Verantwortung zeigen!’ commitment days, our employees also demonstrate how strongly social responsibility is anchored in our everyday work,” said Peter Gschiel, BILLA Sales Director for Styria and Southern Burgenland.

Nina Reiterer, Head of the Ronald McDonald Children's Aid House in Graz, highlighted BILLA's long-standing support: ‘The cooperation with BILLA is of great importance to our organisation. Whether through donations in kind, personal visits or lovingly baked delicacies – we feel the solidarity and sincere commitment, for which I would like to express my sincere thanks.’
