Women's health has long been overlooked by the public, the medical community, and in everyday life. With “Ehrlich gesagt,” BIPA has now created a platform that asks honest—and sometimes uncomfortable—questions, provides well-informed answers, and supports women with reliable information. The podcast is part of the BIPA initiative of the same name, which aims to promote openness regarding women's health.
Topics we need to discuss
In the first five episodes, Christl Clear teams up with experts to delve into topics that are still too rarely discussed in our society. The focus ranges from menstruation and the menstrual cycle to the connection between hormones, mental well-being, and neurological processes, all the way to questions surrounding menstrual products. Serious medical conditions such as endometriosis, adenomyosis, cysts, and fibroids are also given the attention they deserve. One episode is dedicated to persistent myths and social taboos surrounding women’s health. Guests include, for example, Sandra Langschwert, cycle mentor and founder of imZyklus, as well as Sibel Ada, neuroscientist and vice-chair of the Austrian Society for Family and Regional Historical Research (ÖFR).
Christl Clear: “Women’s health is personal, complex, and yet universal—and for far too long, it hasn’t been discussed openly enough. That’s changing now. With ‘Ehrlich gesagt,’ we’re showing that no topic is too sensitive, no experience too insignificant.”
Margit Reisinger, Managing Director of BIPA: “97 percent of our employees are women, and the majority of our customers are women as well—so women’s health is particularly close to our hearts. We’ve been supporting women in their daily lives for decades and understand the need for reliable information on this topic. With the podcast ‘Ehrlich gesagt,’ we’re giving these issues a voice, because when people speak openly, they’re better able to take care of themselves.”
