PENNY Family Relief Fund: Around 4,000 families already supported since 2011
The year 2020 was a great success for the PENNY Family Relief Fund: With the help of PENNY customers more families than ever before were supported. Since 2011, PENNY has been working together with the Austrian Red Cross to help families and children in emergency situations. In the last 10 years, almost 4,000 families and 9,000 children have received help through the PENNY Family Relief Fund.

In the more than 300 PENNY stores throughout Austria, donations are once again being collected for families in need. During the fundraising campaign from April 1st to 7th, customers can donate one euro at the checkout with every purchase and in return receive discount vouchers for their purchases, which can be redeemed from April 8th to 14th. Over the past 10 years, impressive aid efforts have been acchieved. Around 2 million euros have been handed over to the PENNY Family Relief Fund since 2011. PENNY customers have thus helped families in need with a total of 2,187 rent arrears, 1,108 food vouchers, 765 energy bills and 218 essential purchases such as washing machines or ovens.

Especially in challenging times, families quickly and unexpectedly find themselves in an emergency situation. Arrears, unpaid energy bills and the like are then a major challenge. With the PENNY Family Relief Fund, the food discounter makes a social contribution in Austria. Last year alone, 540 families and 1436 children were helped in this way.
Donations can also be made directly to the PENNY Family Relief Fund of the Austrian Red Cross all year round.
