52 apprentices organised a week-long Oktoberfest at the BILLA store at Perfektastraße 106 in Vienna-Liesing. Under the motto "O'zapft is", classic Wiesn delicacies such as white sausage, Stelze, pretzels and much more were offered to customers in front of the store for a voluntary donation. The total proceeds of 3,157 euros will be donated to ITA - Individualised Partial Apprenticeships for Young People with Disabilities.

"I am very proud of our apprentices and the entire BILLA team in Perfektastraße - with this initiative they have impressively demonstrated their social commitment. The Oktoberfest was a complete success, together with our customers we collected 3,157 euros and can now happily hand them over to the ITA", said Hermann Weiß, BILLA Head of Sales.

The ITA is a non-profit limited company that offers an innovative and modern-day structure with a wide range of education and training opportunities for young people with disabilities. The courses are very individually tailored to the needs of the young people and take place at the two locations, in Vienna and in Gänserndorf.

Monika Hoffmann, Pedagogical Director ITA Vienna, explains: "An important goal of ITA is to prepare the young people for further vocational training or employment in a company. Some of our young people have already been able to complete a successful internship - one of them even an apprenticeship - at BILLA. That's why we are all the more pleased that BILLA's apprentices are supporting us in our endeavour with this great campaign."

The training opportunities at ITA range from gastronomy and office organisation to horticulture and animal care. Among other things, they serve to expand technical skills and promote positive social and work behaviour. This should help young people to better master their private and future working lives.
