Pumpkin season has officially begun. From September to November, the most diverse varieties are available in abundance. Whether Hokkaido, butternut or muscat - the bright orange all-rounders can now be enjoyed fresh from the field. Whether as a classic pumpkin soup, roasted in the oven or in autumnal salads - pumpkins not only score points with their mild, slightly sweet flavor, they are also a real source of nutrients. All this makes the pumpkin a real fall seasonal hit. It is a real all-rounder in the kitchen and can also be stored in cool, dry places.
GEO vegetable producer organization Eastern Austria: Home for PENNY's pumpkins
When it comes to regional quality and sustainability, GEO-vegetable producer organization Eastern Austria is the perfect partner for PENNY's autumnal superfood - and has been for over 20 years. Every year, the flagship company from Burgenland supplies a large number of local pumpkins, which are used for the “Echt Bio!” private label. Thanks to sustainable cultivation methods such as irrigation with rainwater and the use of beneficial insects, the pumpkins grow under ideal conditions. With 107 tons of pumpkins per year, GEO-Gemüseerzeugerorganisation Ostösterreich makes a significant contribution to supplying the Austrian population with this popular autumn vegetable - and all from sustainable, regional production.
“All of our organic vegetables are regional, sun-ripened and aromatic in taste. In addition, the products are accompanied by our quality management from the selection of the seeds or plants through to delivery - you can taste that in the end,” says Patrick Haider, member of the supervisory board of the GEO vegetable producer organization in Eastern Austria and master horticulturist.
