Marcel Haraszti, member of the Management Board of REWE International AG: ‘At BILLA, it is particularly important to us not only to ensure local supplies for people in Austria, but also to make a valuable contribution to society. Sports clubs are an indispensable part of the Austrian community because they generate enthusiasm for exercise and promote a healthy lifestyle. We are therefore all the more pleased to be a partner of FIVERS, strengthening the work of young talent in handball and actively supporting the development of talented young players.’
BILLA promotes school and sports training for young handball players
The partnership starts at the beginning of 2025 and will initially run until September 2026. As part of the partnership, the BILLA logo will adorn the jerseys of the FIVERS youth teams from U11 to U16. BILLA also supports the FIVERS Learning & Development Club, with which the club wants to help the youth players master the challenges of school as well as their sporting endeavours. BILLA takes over the patronage for one of the four days/week on which the young handball players receive free learning/tutoring from FIVERS players and coaches. BILLA also supports the FIVERS Handball Kids Olympics, in which around 800 children from various schools in the area take part for a whole week.
Martin Wiesinger, President FIVERS: ‘We are overjoyed to have gained BILLA as a top partner for young talent/youth/CSR. Around 6,500 hours per year are spent by 21 FIVERS coaches working with over 250 children and young people. In conjunction with the free Learning & Development Club, we have been creating a perfect environment for the sporting, academic and personal development of children and young people from 21 nations for over 20 years. We are incredibly pleased that with BILLA we have been able to convince a great new and strong partner of the idea and values of FIVERS Handballcity Margareten and that BILLA has become an important part of our partner network.’
