Harald Mießner, BILLA Board Member for Sales: ‘With over 30,000 employees and around 1,920 apprentices, BILLA is one of Austria's largest employers and trainers. As such, we attach great importance to practical and high-quality training. We are therefore delighted to welcome around 1,000 apprentices in all regions this year. We believe that those who take on responsibility early on deserve to be recognised right from the start - both through training and fair pay. That's why we significantly increased the apprentices' salary at BILLA at the beginning of September.’
Above-average salary from the first year of apprenticeship
BILLA offers numerous services and benefits as part of its apprenticeship training programme. These include an above-average apprentice salary. From now on, apprentices will receive 1,200 euros in their first year of training. This corresponds to a bonus of 320 euros compared to the salary of 880 euros stipulated in the collective agreement. In the second year, the bonus is 270 euros (1,130 euros according to the collective agreement), in the third 320 euros (1,430 euros according to the collective agreement) and in the fourth 310 euros (1,490 euros according to the collective agreement).
More choice, more opportunities for your personal career path
The range of apprenticeships on offer at BILLA and BILLA PLUS is as diverse as the interests and personalities of young people. Apprenticeships are currently offered in occupations such as retail sales assistant, confectioner, system catering specialist and media specialist. A double apprenticeship as a retail salesperson and office administrator is also possible. A new addition to the programme this year is an apprenticeship as a wholesale clerk. Throughout the entire training period, the apprentices are personally supported by BILLA's apprenticeship and junior staff development programme so that they have another contact person in addition to their trainer.
Depending on their interests, apprentices at BILLA can also complete an apprenticeship with a school-leaving certificate or work placements abroad. Vocational school qualifications and final apprenticeship examinations with good results are rewarded with attractive bonuses. There is also the opportunity to apply for the junior management programme after successfully completing an apprenticeship.
