Groundbreaking for "Smaragdgletscher Bramberg"

On April 8, 2025, the starting signal was given for a groundbreaking combined project by the BWS Group in the Salzburg municipality of Bramberg am Wildkogel (District of Zell am See). The "Smaragdgletscher Bramberg" project will create 28 subsidized rental apartments according to the guidelines of the Salzburg housing subsidy, as well as a modern BILLA market with over 800 m² of retail space on the ground floor.

“With the new BILLA in Bramberg, we are not only making an important contribution to local supply but are also part of a project that enhances affordable housing and quality of life on site,” explains Bernhard Kreuzer, BILLA sales manager in Salzburg. Regional Councilor Martin Zauner also expresses his confidence, stating: “The ‘Smaragdgletscher Bramberg’ project combines central concerns of Salzburg's housing policy – affordability, regional ties, and smart use of synergies. I am pleased that a strong signal for modern construction in rural areas is being set here.”

A Project with Vision

At the groundbreaking ceremony on Sportplatzstraße, Mayor Hannes Enzinger was also present: “The ‘Smaragdgletscher Bramberg’ is a powerful example of how housing and local supply can go hand in hand – sustainably, socially, and with a future-oriented approach. It demonstrates how good collaboration can create long-term value for the people.” Dr. Mathias Moser, board member of the BWS Group, also emphasized the importance of the partnership: “We are delighted to realize a flagship project for affordable housing and modern infrastructure together with BILLA and the municipality of Bramberg.” BWSG board member Arch. DI Kerstin Robausch-Löffelmann adds: “For us as a housing cooperative, it is particularly gratifying when good planning results in a project that provides genuine benefits for the region and its residents, enabling a livable future.” Hillebrand Bau is responsible for the construction implementation, with Managing Director of Construction & General Contracting, BM Josef Feichtenschlager, emphasizing: “We focus on the highest quality and sustainable construction methods – ensuring that this project not only captivates today but also stands the test of time in the future.”
