Press Release 14th April 2025

Over 111 tons of donations: BILLA and Sutterlüty customers generously donated during the LEO & Lions Collection Day 2025

Once again, a LEO & Lions Collection Day took place in selected BILLA and BILLA PLUS stores, as well as in two Sutterlüty locations. Thanks to the strong willingness to donate from customers, over 4,400 banana boxes filled with donations—amounting to more than 111 tons—were collected. The donations primarily consisted of staple foods and hygiene products, which were received by volunteers and subsequently distributed to local aid organizations, women’s shelters, homes, and social accommodations.

Michael Paterno, BILLA Board Member: “The LEO and Lions Collection Day took place for the first time over ten years ago. We are very pleased that this longstanding initiative once again impressively demonstrated the importance of social cohesion this year. This year's collection day even saw more product donations than last year. This is only possible thanks to the active engagement of our customers, employees in the stores, and the LEO and Lions teams.”

Fabrício Oliveira, Lions International President: “Implementing projects like the LEO and Lions Collection Day together with our major partner BILLA in Austria is very close to our hearts. Around 1,100 members from 135 LEO and Lions Clubs were involved. I have been part of the Lions Club for almost 40 years, and I am proud to see what we can achieve together. Our goal is to continue helping and supporting in the future.”
