1,220 BILLA and BILLA PLUS stores in Austria not only offer a diverse range of products but also numerous services that make everyday life more enjoyable. One of these services is the cash service "Cash 2 go," available since 2020. Customers can withdraw up to 200 euros directly at the checkout with every purchase – easily and without fees. This service makes a significant contribution to cash provision in Austria, especially in rural areas. The service is available in around 2,200 stores of the REWE brands BILLA, BIPA, and Penny nationwide.

Harald Mießner, BILLA Board Member for Sales: “As one of the largest food retailers in Austria, we take responsibility far beyond the daily grocery shopping. By enabling cash withdrawals directly at the checkout, we create low-threshold points of contact and strengthen cash provision – especially in rural regions, where few ATMs are often available. This is true local supply that noticeably eases the daily lives of our customers.”

DI Johannes Pressl, President of the Austrian Association of Municipalities and Mayor of the Municipality of Ardagger: “Cash provision is an important part of public services in our communities. Together with the ATM services of the Austrian National Bank and initiatives from BILLA and other retailers, we ensure comprehensive and reliable cash provision, especially in rural areas. At the same time, there needs to be an expansion and development of digital payment options to strengthen local supply and provide new shopping opportunities for people.”
