Forward-looking apprentice training: BILLA apprentices visit the Lower Austrian state parliament

Last week, BILLA apprentices had the opportunity to take part in an exclusive tour of the Lower Austrian State Parliament. In addition to visiting the impressive premises, they had the chance to meet Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister, Member of the Provincial Government, in person.

State Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner invited interested apprentices directly to the state parliament. Fifty of our apprentices from Lower Austria responded to this call on Thursday morning. ‘It is very important to us to support young people in their professional development. The visit of the BILLA apprentices to the state parliament shows how important dialogue between young people and politicians is. Together, we are shaping the future of Lower Austria,’ emphasises Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner.

The apprentices, as well as sales directors, sales managers, market managers and the apprentice and young talent development team, were warmly welcomed to the State Parliament by State Councillor Teschl-Hofmeister, representing State Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner, and enjoyed an informative tour of the historic building.

‘I am delighted to welcome the BILLA apprentices to the state parliament. Encounters like this promote exchange and raise awareness of the importance of education and commitment in society,’ adds State Councillor Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister.

Our apprentices are not only the specialists and managers of tomorrow, they are also the heart of our diverse teams. It is a great honour for us to support these committed young talents during their training. We are enthusiastic about investing in their development, promoting them not only professionally but also personally. By teaching them the necessary skills and knowledge, we are paving the way for a successful career while strengthening the values that BILLA represents," said Stefan Weinlich, BILLA Sales Director in Lower Austria.

Eric Scharnitz, BILLA Sales Director in Burgenland, emphasised: ‘As one of the largest training companies in the country, our goal is to train our apprentices not only professionally, but also as active participants in society. We want to encourage them to participate in social discourse.’

Hamed Mohseni, BILLA Sales Director in Vienna, added: ‘Our BILLA apprentices are the future of our company and an indispensable part of our teams. We are proud to be able to support them on their training path.’

BILLA still has apprenticeship positions available

Anyone interested in an apprenticeship with one of the country's largest food retailers still has the opportunity to apply. Committed young talent is currently being sought, particularly in the retail and confectionery sectors. If you are interested, you can simply apply online via the job portal. BILLA also offers apprenticeships with Matura and additional qualifications, and vocational school qualifications and final apprenticeship examinations are rewarded with attractive bonuses if achieved with good results. After successfully completing their apprenticeship, interested parties can apply for the junior management programme. Other benefits include an increased apprentice income. Apprentices receive €1,350 in their first year, €1,570 in their second, €1,980 in their third and finally €2,030 in their fourth year.
