For our employees

Two people are standing, smiling, in front of a modern building with the word "REWE" written on the roof. The woman is wearing a red dress, and the man is wearing a dark suit and a white shirt. She is giving a thumbs-up.

Inclusion of People with Disabilities

Inclusion is an important part of our corporate culture. We are committed to fostering a work environment characterized by respect, equal opportunity, and participation. By 2025, 1,175 employees with disabilities will be part of our teams across the Group. With their diverse experiences, perspectives, and skills, they contribute to our shared success every day. We view diversity as a strength that fosters innovation and enriches our collaboration.

LGBTQIA+ Awareness

Diversity is a core value of the REWE GROUP, which is committed to fostering a work environment where everyone can openly and freely thrive, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Since 2017, the employee network DITO (“different together”) has provided a platform for visibility and support for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and queer employees.

Women in Leadership Roles

Studies clearly show that teams with a balanced mix of women and men in management are more successful and productive. Like many other companies, we face the challenge of an imbalance in top management positions. We are actively addressing this through our “Women’s Drive” program, which specifically promotes women to leadership roles. In defined leadership roles, including those in branches and stores, women account for 59.4% of the workforce. Among the total workforce, women account for 69.5%.

Work-Life Balance Audit

We are certified under the Work-Family Audit. Many measures are already firmly established within the company and play a key role in promoting a healthy work-life balance. Examples include regular opportunities for employees on parental leave to meet with HR representatives or their direct supervisors, as well as support for vacation childcare.

Workplace Health Promotion

Job satisfaction, relaxation during leisure time, and spending time with family are the challenges facing our society—and this is where we want to support our employees. They are the heart of our company, which is why, through our commitment as part of the “Work and Family” audit, we aim to help employees better balance their careers, family life, and personal needs. Workplace health promotion and its wide range of programs help employees maintain their health throughout their entire working lives.

Trainee Programs for College Graduates

REWE International AG offers management trainee programs annually. The program lasts 15 months and includes time in stores, an international project, rotations, a project at headquarters, and further rotations.
